"no anneke 1/5"

I know man, but still it rules so much, you have to listen to it. If Anneke was on it it would be like masterpiece.

"The West Pole ends up showcasing a revitalized band delivering one of their best works in almost a decade".

"the misstep that was Home".

"In fact, after quite a few listens her vocals might even be preferable to Anneke’s".

Hell no.

Home was an amazing album with a couple of weak tracks. It was much more diverse and forward-thinking than this, which is more an exploration of a single atmosphere (and a more mundane one at that)

Honestly this is as good as any of their Anneke-period albums.

It's a slight drop imo, mainly because of 3 or so bland tracks, but way underrated

Album is kind a different from what the band created with Anneke but is equally good. Love this dirty guitar sound.

Yeah, this is pretty damn good in terms of production. I think it's aged very well too.
