I can't stand how "maudlin" is never capitalized. Every time I see it it bugs the crap out of me.

Also I'm unsure why everyone seems to dance on their head for this album. Nothing about it really grabbed me, but maybe I just don't get it.

To address complaints:

Lower case - annoying in the first place so let's just get over it.

Krallice - BUT THEY DONT SOUND LIKE MOTW.

This is very good. The fact that it sounds almost nothing like motW is the only disappointing part. Toby Driver is probably the best musician around today.

There's a part in Rose Quartz that's reminds me of Ligeti's "Aventures" mixed with a little Mike Patton.

How many people do you expect to understand what you're talking about when you mention isorhythms?

Nobody who's a reg. There are internet dwellers out there who are decently educated.

I really need to give this band another chance. I'm really into ambient and atmospheric music, as well as progressive stuff...but for some reason when I listened to Birth Pains (previous cd) and other CD's I couldn't get into it the same way others have. I need to make time to sit down and listen to this...I'll make sure to do it though, great review.
