Seriously, though, how in the fuck could I forget about it? I feel like hitting myself in the head or something. Stupid Kris. It's like their best song.

The word epic is used far too often these days, and a lot of times where it doesn't really apply, but that's the only word that can describe the final riff from Frances.

finish with the best (francis

Haha by then he'll have listened to De-Loused enough to realize how grossly inferior Frances is.

Frances by miles over the rest...I'd give it a 6 if I could.

You guys are crazy, I think Frances is easily the most accessible. Look at a song like the widow, its like three minutes long, standard song structure, it doesn't have any crazy time signatures or anything. Even the crazier songs aren't nearly as out there the stuff on their future releases

At the very least start with Deloused and save Amp for last since its the hardest to get into especially for a newcomer.

Are you serious? Thats the shortest song on the album, and the next shortest song is 11 mintues. By no means is it "accessible".

Shrapnel,

I think people are just naming the albums they like and telling him/her to listen to them based on that because I definitely dont think a first time listener could digest amp, bedlam, or frances on their first listen and enjoy it.

I had to listen to both Frances and Deloused multiple times before the awesomness of both really sunk in. I have to say I don't think anything longer than 5:00 minutes of any band would be accessible to any new comer especially The Mars Volta. I suggest The Widow, or maybe televators and then you could YouTube thier longer tracks like Drunkenship Of Lanterns to get a feel for them

Well I hope that they got this out of their system, it's painful hearing how much they held back on this album.

Really starting to miss Jon Theodore BTW.

This album is awesome. I love the change of pace, i think it was a great move by the band. So far their sound has been pretty predictable from album to album (albeit awesome)
