sweet review, seriously you have no idea how pleasant it was to read a review like this. If I could pos twice i would. Also, the stuff about sentimental classics is so damn right, I myself have p.o.d.'s Greatest hits rated as a 5 too and have been meaning to give it a review.

Album is good, it was a god of an album 4-5 years back, not very interesting now anymore though. Still gets a 3 because of the sentimental aspect.

I loved this album when I was younger. I totally agree with the whole sentimental idea.

this was well written, and i understand that this album is special to you for reasons that are hard to justify, but this lacks objectivity. you still get a pos though

good argument for an album that gets trashed by the cool kids.

Brings back memories of early high school haha. I agree you have some nuts to give this a 5.

This was never a 5 for me, neither was Hybrid Theory though I still love that one a great deal. Come to think of it, despite my intense nu- metal phase of almost a decade ago, I don't think I'd have ever rated even one of my favourites as Classic, even back when.

great review, and I agree 100%. This was the very first album I ever bought, and while it's not a 5 and I don't listen to it anymore, it definitley has sentimental value.

Sentimental value is there for sure. I'll always love this album because I thought it was the shit back i the day. You sir are brave for giving this a 5 though. Good review.

the sentimental value is veeeeeery true and much of that review i cant help but agree with... but at the end of the day it is a sub-par album to me (well, to me NOW).

I can totally understand your opinion on that. Some albums lose their first appeal, and some don't. To each his own.

Interesting take in your review. In my ratings, I tend to look at it based on opinion, so I have some albums ranked "classics" that aren't generally thought to be. I could also see something being a "sentimental classic." I'll give you a pos. for a thought-provoking review.

I agree with the idea of a sentimental classic, although I missed the nu-metal era so American Idiot would be mine.
