The middle section was so weak it almost stopped me from listening to the rest. But there is some good stuff here.

I get a kick out of Davey's yelp no matter how many times I hear it.

You mean the "ohh!"?

I love that shit.

So let's say I've heard some old AFI and thought it was pretty good. I heard some Decemberunderground and thought it was pretty bad. I completely thought this album was going to suck until now. Worth checking out?

I disagree, obviously.

Also; Torch Song is such a sick opener.

I'm not listening or reading the review before I get my hard copy, but I just got this on my twitter:

"New afi is delightfully smiths influenced"

And there's a huge buzz about this record being amazing. The person who claimed the smiths influence usually knows very well what he's talking about, so I'm getting really pumped for this. Leaving aside the regular naysayers, do you guys think this record is worthy of all the high praises that it's getting?

I'm really testing my force of will avoiding to listen this. Glad to know you're enjoying it, Splat Out. Everything about this record is getting me officially pumped.

No more Smiths-influenced than their last couple of records, really. I did keep finding myself comparing it to Suede though.

made me start to play She's In Fashion.

This isn't bad at all... but it feels cheap for some reason. And eventually, forgettable. But I'll give a few more listens

I'm not a fan of the complete lack of screaming, but I have to admit Torch Song and End Transmission are pretty damn good
