i'm prolly not indie enough to "get" it, but i don't see the big deal with this band. unless they post all their worst songs on myspace

only listened to this a few times, but i'm mixed on it. i think i like the production on the first one better, on some of the songs on this, i think his vocals sound a little too upfront on this one. the guitar takes more of focus on some of the songs and i don't think the riff based stuff works as well as what the guitar does on the first album. like 'deadbeat,' part of me wants to love it cause it sounds badass but I don't know if it really works with their style and it's a little generic. I absolutely love "Keep Slipping Away," and I think that track embodies a lot of what I do dig about this album which is almost a more 80s sounding style, like if The Cure was shoegaze, whereas the first one reminded me more of the Jesus and Mary Chain if they listened to metal. And it works particularly fantastic with his lyrics and vocals, which have an awesome sappiness that works well with the equally overbearing and grandiose music behind them. Some of it is a little too heavy for my tastes at points. I like their attempts to be noisy but they heavy dynamics don't thrill me. I can't really stand the first two tracks either.

Idk gotta listen more

There's nothing to "get". It's loud, noisy and often despondent. Cheap thrills, I dig it.

My mind's made up and I know that I want you
Because these words and feeling of love are all true
I'll never say it but I always want you to know
As each day goes by my love continues to grow
