Didn't really bother me much either, I just thought it was stupid and CK's butt started to hurt. He's probably in a drunken stupour trying to cut off his hemorrhoids with a blunt pair of scissors right now.

This band is pretty average but I enjoyed their debut. Great review btw Davey, was an enjoyable read. I think I agree with almost everything you said.

I can't see putting Aaron Gillespie against Dave Grohl. Spencer Chamberlin hasn't killed himself... And so Underoath is very much so still together. So The Almost is a side project meaning that his focus is Underoath. Aaron is quite eclectic when it comes to music. He dabbles in things. Southern Weather was what he was tinkering with at the time. And Moster Monster is what he is exploring as an artist. He isn't trying to make a statement. He is just making some good old honnest tunes. That's what I love about Aaron Gillespie!

i also think that the underoath/gillespie to nirvana/grohl comparison is really stupid.

fine review otherwise

Thanks Puddles & gyro. Oh, I see what you did there gyro. The magic of bolding.

Oh man, I can't see the issue here. I totally understand that the situation with Underoath & Nirvana are different. I'm not f'n stupid. But if people can't see the FACTUAL similarities between Grohl & Gillespie, and then the coincidence of the Foo Fighters recent sound with the sound on this album, then I guess that... well... I've over-estimated some readers. I'm done on the subject.

Brick should have been named The Almost's new drummer.

"I'm done on the subject."

pretty stupid thing to say in the comments section of your own review. At least give people the chance to neg it then...

In other news, yeah, they both play drums and can also sing and play other instruments. Except Gillespie has done so forever, and Grohl's songs came out of nowhere. Also, the Almost is a side project, spun into an entirely different genre, where FF is an entirely new band, within the same broad spectrum of alt-rock...

but whatever...

That's the 2nd time you've called me "stupid" theacademy.

And if you're saying that you would have negged the review because of that comparison, then that's interesting. Of course, if reviewing is sooo easy, then... hmmm... look at all those theacademy reviews. Time for 1662 comments & not a single review. Hmmm.

I talked on the subject in the first 2 pages of the comments section if you have not had a chance to read them. I don't think I need to reiterate all the points again.

"whatever" haha, you're a 15 year old girl.

I missed this review Davey, obviously good etc. etc. Albums sounds interesting, but not necessarily in the good way. Having said that I've never heard any Underoath or Gaslight Anthem so idk what I'm talking about really.

I knew you missed the review Ross due to your confusion on my Homer comment in the other review.

This sounds nothing much like Underoath anyway. Surprised you haven't heard The Gaslight Anthem's 'The '59 Sound'. Definitely worth a listen, but as it is not an '09 release, do it on Jan-1. Haha.
