'Ocean Avenue', the 4th LP - & major label debut - from Jacksonville's Yellowcard, catapults the pop-punk quintet towards the top of their genre. As hinted on earlier releases, these guys know how to write an upbeat & catchy tune, but they take their summer anthems to a new level here. The drumming is superb, while the signature violin has been integrated excellently. The real surprise though, comes in the form of some genuinely mature lyrics, which give these relatable songs real heart. The first half of this album is near-perfect, while the run home is also fairly solid. Recommended Tracks: Ocean Avenue, Way Away, Breathing & Believe.

Festival, although may be tempted if they do a sideshow & the support is a good one.

I just visited Carmel, California, where I found the street "Ocean Ave." I then actually looked for "Cherry Street" but was disappointed that I couldn't find it.
Turns out they are streets in Jacksonville. Haha. By the way, am I the only one who sees this as such a summer album? Especially the title track?
