Gene's drumming on this basically just destroys everything Herrera did with FF. Its so good.

Raymond? Tbh i'd say Gene is the all round better drummer, but Raymond is more suited for Industrial. Gene's great on this album but some of the stuff i've heard Raymond do on the older FF albums is intense

Indomitable, you should check out Soul Of A New Machine by these guys, it may change your opinion on them.

I completely agree with you on the fact that Raymond is a great drummer Deviant, I just think Gene is a beast, especially on this. Him and Dino combine perfectly.

Yeah i've been meaning to try to get into them for awhile but i keep getting distracted by other musical ventures haha. As for Raymond Herrera, while i obviously haven't been exposed to much of his drumming he was fucking fierce on the double bass drums. I mean some of the fastest i've ever heard

Try that dude, they were a bit more Death Metal influenced back then. The bass was also their best on that record imo.

The double bass on Demanufacture (the title track) still gets me every time.

I forget what song it was...maybe Archetype? But the double bass was just disgustingly fast

Raymond is a good drummer, but he doesn't seem to have the power behind his beats that Gene does (alot of that could be production, though). My favorite performances by Raymond come on the Soul of a New Machine album.

I agree. It seems as if he forgot he had hands or something the more he progressed with FF.
