"ear candy" to me just means something that will be instantly pleasing and has no chance of offending or bothering anyone.

kind of like most pop-music. i don't like pop because it is driven by the mix of the beats, and the vocals and little instrumentation just are along for the ride.

just my opinion, though. i went to metal looking for sophisticated, complex music with more than just face-value. and it's (mostly) what i got.

Damn, it looks like I missed the conversation. My favorites are "Broken Heart Cliche", "Godless", and "Moving On". I'm going to have to get the three-disc version it sounds like. I'm also looking forward to the new Stray album and that guitar-less doom project. It sounds like it will be a busy year. As for Bloozclooz, it doesn't seem like this would be your style of music due to the lack of guitars, just like Metalstyles said.

I can't listen to this if it is nowhere near as complexly rewarding as elite bands such as Behemoth and The Faceless.
