for every hole i punched in the wall, ever piece of paper crumbled as we suffer in the bloodiest fall, for every pulsating ego blistered into moon-ride nose bleeds, i nurse these festering wounds that drop rose seeds. and when the blizzards come band-aid my scars, i strum lullabies on a hand-made guitar. i'm waiting for the fan blades to carve a nice temperature; my leather heart beats to time signatures
bump.

Yeah this is downright essential shit right here. Will probably 5 it but haven only heard it all the way through once, but it fucking impacted me. This is probably the best underground hip hop record Ive heard.

yeah man more people need to hear this. it's really unfortunate that this got shelved for 5 years because if this had come out when it was supposed to in 2004 on Rhymesayers, it probably would've gotten MUCH mroe acclaim.

Most of the hip hop Ive heard that has a personal, or tortured nature, refers to street/violence tales, like Pac, Biggie, and on and on. This is fucking tortured shit, but it relates to everyday, normal life, not just growing up in the ghetto and shit like that. That, and I love all of the Pop Culture references, especially the Seinfeld ones.

haha yeah Mac's the best at combining the personal with the impersonal, he sort of pulls you in with all of the cleverness and wit (not to mention fucking crazy rhyme schemes) but then just hits you with some of the most open and honest lyrics in hip hop.
The Sketchbook is crazy.
