"fingerprints is like 10 minutes away from my house"
I had a look at some photos of the store & couldn't really tell how big it was . What's it like cirq? Good place to buy albums?

TBH, I can see why some people would not like this band. But like you said, to each their own.
Wow, that is quite the line-up. All the places that I know around here that sell used cds are lucky to be able to fit 50 people in them, let alone the setting up of instruments & a band.

yea, its sooper cool.. here's a vid from the pepper show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG9ghEHkIpU

"here's a vid from the pepper show" Was this during her little tiff with Salt.
"damn his voice sounds great on this" Agreed Chan. If it's not better than on the LP, it at least proves that he can pull off everything that is demanded of him live.

Ditto... Although I think they'd be much better in a small, cosier setting such as where this EP was recorded, rather than a larger venue.

Sweet review Davey. I liked this album quite a bit.

Thanks Mike.
I actually just spent some time floating around YouTube looking for them performing live & to say they are definitely better in a cosier acoustic atmosphere is an understatement.

Probably not Adam. Have they even toured outside of Nth. America? I'm not holding my breath to see them live down under, that's for certain. Would be cool though.

The first time I heard the opening to All the Pretty Girls I immediately recognized it as 100% ELO, that's just exactly their sound right there. And as someone else mentioned, the band said the song was a tribute of sorts to them.
Anyway I'm not really falling head over heels for the live album, but for the $3 or whatever it is it's definitely worth it. The songs themselves are just spectacular.

Righteo. I never knew that ELO relied on harmonies so much.
I still think the main attraction to this live EP is that feeling that you ae actually there. That is not easy to reproduce.

Has anybody bought a physical version of this? I'm curious to how much those are going for in comparison to a couple bucks for a download.
"to say they are definitely better in a cosier acoustic atmosphere is an understatement." I love this EP but I enjoyed them way more with a full sound. Opening with Walking the Dog at the show I went to was just a blast, but I think a little bit of energy gets lost in translation to acoustic. Can't wait to see them again two weeks from today, except it'll be in a stadium :s

I didn't buy the physical version. I doubt if it would even make its way down under.
Hmm, interesting opinion on acoustic vs full sound. Don't get me wrong, I agree on record because they can add so much more elements (such as at the end of 'Be Calm'), but the clips I have seen of them live in a more rock environment seemed a little more messy and less suited to the strengths of their songs.

Yeah, I'll take "interesting" as an adjective, as long as it's in a good way.

Saw fun. with TBS, Anberlin, and Gavin Castleton in Fargo on halloween. They opened with Benson Hedges, with all 6 instrumentalists on stage singing the opening part. From that awesome moment til the end it all really felt like an epic ass rock show. I loved it even more than this EP, but thats just my 2 cents.

Please tell me that was a festival and not a one-off show. That's one hell of a line-up right there.
Sounds like you had a great time... You didn't mention to them to come to Oz, didja?
