who listed the similar bands for these guys? this has no resemblance to Toro Y Moi or any of the others really beyond the use of female vocals
this is pretty much the polar opposite of toro y moi. i'll edit.

Great review, man. Until this point, I'd only ever listened to Crown on the Ground.
But now I got the album.
So everything's fine.
Everybody chill.

Downloaded because of the review, threw it on shuffle. Pretty interesting, but not spectacular. Then I heard "treats". Pretty amazing stuff

Good review; completely not my kind of music though. It's abrasive just to be abrasive. This one just tries too hard.

A distinct possibility [is better] than nothing. I will check it out. Who, apart from 30h3 (or however its spelt), does this sound like?

M.I.A beat wise, kinda

It reminded me of MIA, not 3oh3 though

the 3oh3 namedrop is just a cultural reference - what 3oh3 are doing for douchebags, sleigh bells are doing for hipsters, i.e. abrasive pop music with swagger. they don't sound alike as much as they have similar goals.

The beats can be alright at times, but I find myself hating the vocals on this album.

Big, Dumb and Fun, I like... in small doses. An entire album of this is just jarring
pretty much my thoughts too, although it's enjoyable. Vocals aren't really my thing either, but they're not bad

They just sound so cliche and lifeless in my opinion. Like the stereotypical indie chick. And I hate people who label every indie album hipster garbage, but that's really what it sounds like to me.
The beats are actually all right, but they stay on a dreary consistent level of heavy and compressed/distorted. The album really could've been great, but as a whole it's not a fun listen. It's like drinking a liter of soda in one sitting.

^hah I like the soda analogy. this would be very hard to digest all the way through, but for a few songs at a time I can dig it

I really didn't enjoy this. I agree with Enotron on this one, "hipster crap" is the best description here.

Rill Rill owns

Album Rating: 2.0
The guitar and beats are really chill on Rill Rill for what it's worth. And it's a bit better than the rest of the vocal performances. Maybe I'll raise this to a 2.5 or 3. In the SUPER-GRAND scheme of things I can see the fun-ness of this album being a factor in bumping it.

Damn, Run The Heart is pretty good as well. Maybe I'll have to respin this bitch.
