Listening right now, and first song reminds me of Maroon 5 in the worst way. Will continue listening though.

Hmm, these AvA comparisons are worrying me. Atavanhalen may give this a 6 then. And I totally agree with "not a single fail track which is to say something for a pop-rock release".

Oh Winsomniac, your political career is about to end before it started.

It's chill. I like Siren and we'll see how the rest of the album is. I'm just too stoked on Title Fight and Balance And Composure right now.

I went through various sites and blogs. Shame, I was looking forward to hearing this. I guess I could hear that Afghan Whigs album I got recently, or maybe just find some songs on YT or whatever.

Good luck Soap.

But Spare, I've personally never felt Jimmy Eat World is pop-punk. And I know many people put both bands under the pop-rock moniker.

I said "many people".

Personally, I'd put them both under the wide umbrella of alt-rock... Just on the extreme catchy side of it.

Just to clarify, The Graduate's debut would probably classify as pop-punk.

pop punk, pop rock, extremely catchy alt rock or whatever are all generally interchangeable terms to my ears to be quite honest with you staffyboy

i honestly don't see that much distinction between most of the things people try to not call pop punk and stuff widely regarded as pop punk. i mean people try to tell me saves the day isn't pop punk what kind of world do we live in

I haven't enjoyed something this poppy in a while. I feel as though the album's inspiration dissipates through the last few tracks, though.

Yeah Spare, I'm not huge on genres either.

Fapper, your first sentence will hopefully sum up many people's thoughts on this album. I wouldn't say the inspiration disappears towards the end, more that they're searching for something different. The great thing is that there still is no filler evident. I'm hard-pressed to state which is the least effective track here. Maybe 'Choke'.

I really like Choke. I really like every song. If I had to chose one that was my least favorite I think I would have to go with Permanent Tourists. I guess I just don't like the beginning of the song but it ends strong.
