Debut is better imo

starting to feel the same to an extent. considering the bulk of material on this album comes to about 45 minutes, and the debut was a little over an hour, this falls short. many say Archaeaeon is too long, but i disagree. if Parasignosis were as long as Archaeaeon, it could've very well been superior, assuming the songs were just as good. that's my only gripe aside from the totally pointless tracks 9 and 10, and the somewhat pointless, and long, ambient outro.

i dont think that 45 mins is too small an amount of material though. the length of archaeaeon was only a problem at first i guess, being a bit hard to digest on first listen, but this is more of a concise package for better or worse.

those ambient tracks are the only thing holding me back from saying this is better than archaeaeon.

I enjoy Archaeaeon's length plus I just feel that the songs are better. This is awesome, but doesn't quite surpass Archaeaeon.

download new popular metal album listen 3 times review 5/5.

ras has me all figured out now

but seriously i gave it more than three listens man, and yeah sputnik has a bad habbit of reviewing before letting the album settle for a week or so or whatnot, and this is something the userbase does a lot, including staff and contribs sometimes. You know this already. But anyway, sorry you dislike the review, though. I've never really pleased you with anything, so im not too surprised tbh.

not really, but i guess i can hear what you mean. mitochondrion seem to always get portal comparisons.

Weird that portal is mentioned because I immediately thought of them when I saw the album art

yeah its not too much of an obvious portal comparison, but some of the riffs here remind of the less out-there moments on seepia.
