er, it's more synthetic than animal collective really, "organic" isn't exactly a term i'd use
really what makes this album work for me is the melodies and her beautiful voice

I know exactly what you mean by this, but I disagree. My feelings about it are that it's ostensibly a record to put on in the background, but whenever I try to do that I get sucked in by the vocals...and the lyrics too. I'm not sure if it's the vocals or the lyrics, but there's an aching longing in some of these songs that grips me more than something purely atmospheric should.
