I don't mind overproduced. It's probably due to my love of prog-type stuff. She definitely has one of the better voices in the genre.

Yeah, some of my fav bands are also overproduced (especially the ones by Sasha Paeth).
But Willie, why the reference to Brave's Monuments in your recs? I've only heard their Searching for the Sun album, and it really doesnt sound like this.

Hadn't heard of these guys (and girl) at all until I saw your review. Started my listening with Wolves, which is just fucking AMAZING. Sooo now I've gotta try this one but judging by the review description I probably won't care for it much. And I gotta say...the idea of the guitar playing being toned down really bums me out, that guy could shred. Some really nice solos on Wolves.

That one is just about as good. As for this one, he still has a few cool solos and some decent riffs but it's definitely a simpler album.

Gone through all the albums a few times now. Wolves remains my favorite but Manifesto great too, and this isn't as bad as I thought it would be, still enough metal elements to keep me happy, and it's hard not to enjoy the less metal areas just because Sabine has such a great voice.

Yeah. So I started to listen to this. I definitely liked their more death metal/experimental releases, but this one still has some songs that are pretty decent. Falling Skywards had some amazing synth parts in it. And Sabine's voice is great like always. She is the main reason I listen to them because the growls aren't all too inspiring. But they fit I guess.
