jinglebabe, iradimus, it really is a toss-up. i think i like them both more and less for different reasons. old friends doesn't have the drone that mount hope has, but old friends has so many great songs that i'm pressed to choose a favorite. i still say november song, off the split, is my favorite song by them, but then, the cold world / guilt 7" is really good too. bitter river is even... wait... oh, shit... sorry everyone for being all hipster and junk. thought i genuinely liked this band, but bhough7 opened my eyes to the truth that i'm living a lie. time to listen to listen to 10 years...

the record was recorded and mixed in 4 days if you look at the linear notes so i can't see how you think the production is more slick or anything and it was recorded at the same place as mount hope. anyway, record is a classic

the production is totally more slick or anything though. obviously they just did a better job and quicker.
