I remember going on this gay teen chatroom site when I was like 14-16 years old (so like 2010-2012?) (no it wasn't sexual or anything, it was actually pretty relieving for closeted teens to be able to express themselves in a place) and when this first came out there were always these guys who said that "Born This Way" should be the anthem of the LGBT community and I used to find that so annoying because I was an angsty grunge head back then, but now I find it annoying because while she wrote it with the best of intentions, those lyrics are kinda terrible



I'd much rather the gays picked "Queen" by Perfume Genius" or something



With that said, I haven't heard this album in years and I bet my score for it would at least go up to a 2/5 if I relistened. Though a 2 is still bad, so I probably shouldn't bother

I feel like Gaga is so pro-LGBT, and was so transgressive, and so unpologetic, and wore such interesting outfits, and has such a talented voice, that no one cares the songs themselves were generic with terrible lyrics

"do you what you want to my body, don't stop, let's party"

"don't be a drag, just be a queen"



These were all lines from her hits too, not some deep cuts
