good thing you didn't get to the vocals

Gossow's vocals, and the lyrics themselves are by far the weakest link. Listening to this it makes me wonder if they'd be a much better band these days if they ditched what amounts to a wholly one dimensional vocalist....her limitations means that no matter what the band does they're still ploughing the same furrow.

Bloodstained Cross is dope, need to hear rest.

Easily their worst album ever, the simplicity of drum rhythms and vocals is just TOO obvious.
And yes, I actually do like their other work a LOT.
The Gothenborg metal scene seems a bit dead with DT and In Flames latest albums also being so damn
boring! :

Bloodstained Cross sucks

Fuck you. Song is amazing. Listening for the third time right now.

no u
ok so maybe it doesn't suck, but it's no My Apocalypse
|
| |
No Enemy Within either. A few other songs I heard off this now were disappointingly bland.

tried getting into this since I'm a sucker for generic melodeath, but couldn't
it's just that bad

This album is way better than I expected it to be. Ever since "Doomsday Machine" I began to lose hope. But now Im happy to see Arch Enemy put together some kick ass music again!

If you could just cut out some of the extra tracks then, on the whole, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. Quite a few of the songs seem like they should've been B-sides.

This album is way better than people are giving it credit for. Those of u giving it a rating of anything below a 3.5 need to give this another listen

Band is so damn frustrating. They were easily one of the more musical of the melodic death crowd and seemed to really know what they were doing when it came to writing songs on Wages of Sin/Anthems, and then they just...forgot? I feel like the past few albums just haven't flowed.

I did, a few times after I bought it. It's way too long and way too inconsistent. It sounds as if the Amott bros. listened to a little too much Megadeth before penning some of these riffs. The production makes the riffs sound wimpy and there could've been a lot more palm-muting going on. It seemed as if the band took nine good songs and stretched them out fourteen decent ones.
