I know ;]
It's just a generic metalcore album but I just think it's funny when people talk about the album is influenced by dubstep while it clearly isn't

The thing is I don't even dislike brostep in general. Sometimes I need those wompy mids. But I can't stand the uneducated fucks who act like they know everything. I mean christ can you please at least read the wikipedia article?

Also dev, while you're here, I've been loving the real deep bass of Benga, kryptic minds, vex'd, etc. And the celestial sounds of Swarms and Phaeleh. Any recs for something that fits those catagories, or maybe even mixes them? I really love on that Skream remix of in for the kill how the bass is really huge even though the vox/drums are probably the more obvious feature, but i didn't like skreamizm 1 that much.

Checked out Distance?

Yeah Ive checked out pretty much everything they've done. I think My Demons was the first thing I ever really got into outside of burial for dubstep, and so I checked out their other stuff too. Repercussions is great too but not quite as good, but Falling I thought was pretty boring. But yeah that's a great rec but I guess I kinda left out a lot of what I've heard. From your devstep 1 and 2 lists I've checked out all the previously mentioned plus clubroot, distance of course, zomby, stenchman, rusko, zomby, eleven tigers, james blake, liquid stranger, reso, rustie, and possibly a few more.

I'm leaving out all the more womp-steppy things because that's not what I'm looking for, but I've listened to plenty of those releases as well. So clearly I've gotten a lot of use out of those lists (and don't think I can thank you enough) but now I'm trying to narrow down my picks more since I've probably listened to most of the essentials.

I just realised that I really can't be motivated enough to do a write-up for this. I just kept coming up with different ways to slag him off; even the opening sentence made a comparison between Skrillex unable to mature and the line in Fight Club about how "I wanted to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda that wouldn't screw to save itself"

I don't think I could complain if you went with the second route. But thanks for the recs I'll probably check all or at least most of these out.

Talk about milking one song - I mean, the original has one of the sickest bassdrops ever, but still...this is just too much.
