The album's an acquired taste, I guess. It's understandable that some people don't like the over-the-top stuff on this album, and the 'jokes' that go with it.

I think it's original though, and usually hits the right spot for me.

I honestly don't get the hate behind this. I don't expect everyone to love this as much as I but the 1.5s and the 2s?
I think this is miles ahead of any Strapping Young Lad material.
The only album that I would consider better than this would be Ocean Machine just because it has a lot more variety.

The hate seems like anti-hyping. I'm not saying they'd love it if not for it, they'd likely still not like it, but I feel the strength of the hate is likely at least partially anti-hyping.

But, hey, whatever floats people's boats. I'm a pretty big fan, so, ying and yang, I guess. And as pointed out, it's getting a lot more love than hate. The people who hate it are just expressing it in these comments, I guess.

anyone who's bitching about the "hate" for this album probably just wants this album to have the same charts that the new dear hunter album does.

btw, the color spectrum shits all over this. jsayin

I think a 4 - 4.1 is an excellent overall score for this album.

Haters are stormin' though, it's not that bad.

Probably. It's all a matter of opinion, honestly. And your degree of tolerance for Devin's shenanigans.

Also The Color Spectrum rapes, but I don't think it's a valid comparison. Totally different sounds.

Album slays. So hard. But then again, Devin is my favorite person on Earth and I love everything he does. This is not a 5 for me, but it was at one point. I like the first half of Ki more than anything else Devin has ever done. Album still rules. 4.25-4.5. So enjoyable.
