Now Color Spectrum is the perfect example to me of overhyped and overrated.

"Deconstruction" (song) should have been awesome. Too much overindulgence on this record, and it all seems so damn forced. I don't know if I'll even listen to Ghost now.

the 2 songs on this album that attempt to showcase everything at once are the mighty masturbator and the title track. one of them is the best song on here by a mile, the other is the worst song on here by a mile, and quite possibly the worst prog metal song i've ever heard.

I pretty much agree with everything beefshoes has said. I can imagine people not liking Devin or Strapping, because it's REALLY insane/out there, but I just don't see how a Devin fan can honestly give this a 1.5 or a 2. It's chaotic, unique, complex, epic and hysterical. What's not to love?

This album absolutely stinks of Devin Townsend's style, so for us fanboys it really is a wet dream. Otherwise, most people will hate it.
It's almost like the fanboys love it for all the reasons everyone else hates it (complexity, humour, pooping, etc).
Besides, I've always said I like Devin Townsend so much that I'd listen to the sound of him shitti- oh wait he just did that album 4.5 4.5 4.5!!!!
