Beefshoes, i can't tell if you're one of my fans or one of my haters.

Anyways, if you wanna read one of my "well-written" reviews, read the crap I put on my other "official websites" but you'd have to know my real name to do that...which I won't give AHAHA.

I tried writing well for awhile but it was so boring! This is a place for people to discuss music...for music lovers...regardless of writing talent, I think. So...get on the bus guys!

New to Prog Rock? Fuck no, I friggin love Rammstein...for the record, I love this album, but do you actually think the average music lover is gunna rate this anymore than a 1...NO WAY...so a 3 I think

I like smiley faces....I now dub myself the madman of Prog Rock music reviews..ohhh, what will this evil, vile psychopath do next? NOT SPELL CHECK? NOT BREAK HIS PARAGRAPHS UP? Not "GET" the next Prog Rock album he reviews. Most Prog fans are exactly what Townsend mocks in this ya know WAHAHA!

Stay tuuuuunnnnneeeed.....

oh...you can also read my first three reviews on this website to see some....better written material of mine...Clutching at Straws, 12:5, and...I forget the third. After that, I guess my writing motivations changed.

I'm not satisfied with this album either. In terms of heavy and insane music, SYL is a hundred times better than this shit.

You people really need to learn how to rate albums. [2]

random review but I enjoyed reading it haha, I don't find this album hilarious in the slightest but I still enjoy it for what it is.

"I feel that Devin doesn't actually SING throughout most of Deconstruction..."

LOL WHAT??! hahaha While part of that is correct, there are easily PLENTY of minute-long sections where Devin does nothing BUT sing...and usually Falsetto at that.

I do agree with you though that to understand and truly enjoy his work (both in his solo stuff AND SYL) you have to be in the right mood (usually either a very humorous or violent one @_@) and also understand the mind-frame of the Bi-Polar.

I'll also agree that this isn't his finest moment (I personally feel that "Alien" was his greatest) but, that still isn't to say that this album completely blows the doors off of traditional music in general, Metal or otherwise.

I also feel that his use of guest musicians and instrumentalists was actually quite tasteful. I love how you almost can't even hear Mikael Akerfeldt's vocals unless you do in fact turn the volume up to painful levels....Same with Tommy Rogers' part in Planet Of The Apes, which I couldn't even pinpoint until I listened on headphones....I believe he did this on purpose, as you stated, and I for one love that fact...Forcing you to actually have to HUNT for each guests' parts...Clever clever haha

I think a 3 is a just fine rating....

As I mentioned...no, to un-prog ears (and in some cases, even in Prog cases) this album will be just noise....so...I cant give this a five. BUT, for what it is...it is an interesting album...and I believe, as bi-polar as it gets. Funny, angry, sad, and throwing various ideas at you at one time, as bi-polars usually do when they're on a high! So, it's still very interesting for DIFFERENT reasons...i think I made that quite clear in my reviews. DID YOU EVEN READ THE WHOLE THING????

This album sounds like my head That's why I dig it? People say you need to GET his work...I think you just need to be bi-polar

Truely, his work is magnificent. Ocean Machine exploring loneliness. "Infinty" exploring absurdity. "Terria" exploring incoherent introspection. "Accelerated Evolution" exploring longing. "Synchestra" exploring....I don't really know...i didn't dig that one too much. "Ki" exploring frustration and the want to leave it. "Addicted" and "Ziltoid" exploring the whacky and fun side of the Bi-Polar and this....exploring everything all at one time...including the dilusional arrogance we sometimes have. Fantastic! Of course, SYL exploring the anger, though that gets old quickly as anger is the least felt emotion...or at least for me. Deconstruction gets better every listen. I relate to it. I'm not new to Prog. my next review will probably be Phideaux's Snowtorch, depending on my state of mind, you may like it or not

UnExpect use much crazier song structures than Devvy does, so I really doubt that this is as "bi-polar

as it gets." I think it's a bit silly to say that only people with "prog ears" will be able to

"understand" this kind of album; I know a punk girl who liked this and most likely doesn't listen to

much prog at all, let alone anything as crazy as this.

This is the most Progressive album in the last 10-15 years. Call me a fanboy, but I truly believe this to be a twisted master-piece.

Stand is the only track that bores me a little bit, I still enjoyed listening to it, but that track failed to reach the potential it promised.
