It's almost useless saying what you fave track is at any one point in time, as it's likely to change soon enough.

Wonder if they'd be offended if someone offered to ghost write some better guitar parts for them.... cause they'd be effin amazing with less simple guitar parts

I think it was vibe they were going for with the guitar here. It helpd the mood of the album.
Their most impressive guitar-work is actually on their EP.

The EP just had loads of delay and reverb.

You reckon? I think there is much more of those effects here.

Heavy delay is used althroughout "I Would Stay", it's just slightly more subdued than other songs, the intro on "The Permanent Rain", and other riffs throughout the song, the verses of "Here We Are After Dark" along with the bridge, possibly the chorus too, can't really tell, the intro and chorus on "Wake Up", the verses on "Home", and the verses of "Of Confidence", especially the outro part to the chorus, also the bridge. Now I probably missed a lot of examples, cause I'm listening at work on an iPad lol. Also I haven't really listened carefully to the guitar work on War Paint, for all I know it could be full of delay, but if it is none of the riffs stood out to me, ie. The Permanent Rain and Wake Up.

That was too detailed for me to argue with. Plus, you're getting paid while investigating. LOL.

Do you play guitar? It's a lot easier to pick out if you do.

Nope... Unless you count that of the air variety.
I guess I thought the guitar stood out more on their EP, especially when compared to 'Reach For The Sun', where it disappointed me.

Well yeah, I like the guitar on the EP the most too. Probably because I love riffs with delay, ie. The Adventure (Angels & Airwaves).

All the positive reviews are surprising so I'm giving this a listen, might give them a quick look at soundwave too.

Not sure if they will be for you Croc, but am happy to be proven wrong.
Will only see them at SW-Rev if they are against no-one else I want to see... Which is highly UNlikely.

I'm seeing them on Sunday. Flying from Edmonton, Canada (where I live) to Phoenix, Arizona, USA to see them, Moving Mountains, The Wonder Years, and The Menzingers at warped.

I expect a list from you when you get the chance next week.

Yah, I play alot of guitar so the guitarists have always bothered me a bit with their lack of creativity. Whenever I go to their shows I kinda never look at the guitarists, only AJ and Tyler. But I mean it's very sonically appealing so can't really complain I guess.

While there are a few exceptions, I usually (try to) position myself on the guitarist side of the stage at live shows.

That list comment was not directed at me was it?

Yes, it was. Just a little list saying how each of the bands that you saw were, what they played, etc... Doesn't have to be done immediately, but it would be a good read I think.

"Yah, I play alot of guitar so the guitarists have always bothered me a bit with their lack of creativity"
hmm, I guess I agree. I can love simple guitar (Green Day, Ramones etc) but this album just wasn't my type of music. Although it could be because my taste is absolutely whack at the time being!
