Massive PG1 fan but that was just pretty bland.

Oh gosh, new Kashiwa Daisuke. Heard there was going to be a new album, but didn't think it was going to be so soon.
Must find must listen.

kashiwa is the bringer of the weird unfocused piano jams

I have a copy of PM1 that I got while I was overseas, you bet your ass I'll be listening to this one.

I now understand what it means to be bored to tears. So bland.
I only listen to calm classical piano stuff when it's pretty, but this is just shit.

Lol at the 1/5, I'm so sure that this is one of the worst things you've ever heard.

can't imagine how low your standards have to be to be impressed by this
it's just empty and boring.
I like calm stuff, but this is just shit. I can enjoy piano music from the likes of Balmorhea and
Eluvium, but this is just boring, and the way it's played is terrible. Shit album.
Nah kidding.
I think it's just Japanese piano music I don't like. But really I guess it isn't awful, just boring
to
me. I shouldn't really rate it if I just don't like the kind of music.
Disappointed that it just sounds like anime background music to me. Japanese style piano is boring
by itself. That's my criticism.

^it's simple, it's because this isn't post-rock, it's modern classical. Too many people overlap the two and assume because post-rock has strings and it's pretty that they'll be satisfied by the wide array of works that is modern-classical, when post-rock actually just scrapes the surface of classical. if you're not impressed by this, you're probably just not into this style of music, which is perfectly understandable. Personally, I love Daisuke's tendencies to change genres completely and throw everyone a curveball, it keeps things interesting. Sometimes I long for Program Music II, but him following that would be a feat and would likely fall flat on it's face just because of people's tendencies to compare releases to their predecessors.

Huh, didn't think simple piano and strings qualified as post-rock, but I guess post-rock is a cancer digging it's way into everything else now? I used to think I knew what post-rock was.
Also, just saying, April.#02 is my favourite Kashiwa Daisuke album, just for the title track. It doesn't break down as much as the Program Music I tracks if you get what I mean.
And just saying, this album kind of seems like something I'd enjoy a bit more in winter. I'll wait for the mood to strike I guess.

Just got hold of this, will be spinning shortly.
