This is a cool fucking album. I dig it a lot; it's refreshing to hear these two together for an entire record, and the risks they take production-wise are well rewarded. I could easily see this settling in as a cult favorite, late-blooming type of rap album. "No Church in the Wild" is the best track on the album, by far.

I'm considering changing my rating to a 4. This album will grow on you the more you listen, and pretty quickly. But "Lift Off" and "Made In America" aren't very good. Beyonce's voice annoys the shit out of me, and I don't like hearing an OF affiliate singing about "sweet baby jesus".

Yeah, the whole baby Jesus thing is very over the top, but I guess it's part of the oddball charm for me. However, I understand and empathize with your annoyance. Ever since "Jesus Walks," Kanye feels he has to incorporate some outrageous, falsely-bold defense of Jesus, as if every other rapper alive didn't have that one "atonement track" at the end of his records in which he appologizes to God for all the sins which he's just spent an album's worth of tracks boasting about. It's one big circus act, but I agree, sometimes the clowning can be distracting, and sometimes downright creepy.
