I hate to break it to most of you, but this isn't better than Somewhere. You can be like Chan and claim the wailing was way too far over the top and overpowered the music, but that certain characteristic is what kept the concept sincere. It's realistic that the vocals are a little more all over the place on that album because the dissolving of a long-term relationship can a destructive event. And it's absurd to say the music took a backseat on that album - there's a lot of variation and exceptional writing. It's kind of humorous how the many people who claimed the vocals and lyrics on Somewhere were just too much are focused primarily on them here too (whether it be positive or negative). I think this makes it obvious how essential Dreyer is to the band.

My only issue with Dreyer, at all, was that on "Somewhere", he did seem to hog the spotlight, so to
speak. For instance, I think the intro to "Andria" would have been better suited without his presence.
Though this was honestly the only gripe I ever had with him. And on every release afterwards, that
hasn't been an issue. Especially not here. The vocal placement is much more thought out, and works
better along with the instrumentation.
Even so, there is obvious maturity both in, Dreyer's vocals and lyrics, as well as the rest of the
bands composition and execution.

Now don't make me make a serious post again. I hate it.

Also, I agree 100% with what someguest said about Dreyer being essential to the band.

seriously, nothing on sputnik annoys me more than people insisting over and over again that a certain album "isn't good." stop checking the thread every ten minutes then and focus on stuff you do like.
Oh Jesus God THIS THIS FUCKING THIS

-On the first listen, album seems overbearing with Dreyer's lyrics and voice and devoid of melodies.
-2nd listen makes you realize how insane the chain of stories King Park, Edward, I see Everything are
-3rd listens start showing small moments of creativity, melodies, such as the chimes in a Departure, the beat to Safer in the Forest, the beat in the beginning of all our bruised bodies
-4th, 5th and onward listens make you realize the amount of detail went into making this album. Songs like a Broken Jar and all our bruised bodies start to become your favorites
So people stuck on listen 1, keep goinggg

Well forgive me Rosa but you're a bit of anomaly around here; we've come to accept that your taste is and always will be abysmal, as are your opinions/comments/lists (basically anything you submit or.. erm, "contribute").
