EIT is like an album full of anchors. It's a shame they'll never match that.

You kind of have to go into this expecting it to be second best

i know it was written first back in the everything in transit days, but the intro to the bonus track "locked doors" sounds exactly like the intro to "conversation 16" by the national

I liked this. Glad I gave it a shot.

This sits quite neatly in between Everything in Transit and The Glass Passenger in terms of quality.

willie have you ever listened to everything in transit?
its like this but better

I should probably give this a decent chance but I can't make it through on one try, I have to listen in portions. Something about the way the vocals are mixed just hits a nerve for me. Probably will raise this but for now....

Glad I didn't judge the album after the first few listens. I've been spinning it all day after not listening to it for about a week. It's definitely sticking a lot better now.

"a girl i know worships this band
i do not care much for said girl"
Therefore, won't listen to said band. Sounds reasonable.

I'm a pretty big fan of "Casting Lines" over the past week or so. but "Platform Fire" will always be my absolute favorite

Finding a maturing mid-point between their previous 2 albums, Jack's Mannequin returns with their 3rd LP of piano-driven alt-rock on 'People and Things'. As personal, heartfelt & relatable as ever, frontman & songwriter Andrew McMahon displays too much songwriting depth for this to be called lazy, but the mid-tempo tracks could have been better differentiated with a little more extravagance. Appearing to aim mainly at the band's current fanbase, this is a grower in a similar vein to predecessor 'The Glass Passenger'... And it could ultimately be their most cohesive release yet. Recommended Tracks: My Racing Thoughts, Hostage, Amy I & Casting Lines.

I agree Davey. This is missing the great songs like mix tape and holiday to real

This grew off me 0.5
But I still like a big handful of these, Amelia Jean still being my favorite

Getting back to which song is my fave of theirs: While I prefer the debut LP, I absolutely love 'The Resolution'. Off this particular album, I still can't go past 'My Racing Thoughts'.

The resolution is easily the best on the glass passenger

Honestly I always thought Swim and The Resolution were two of the weaker ones from Glass Passenger. I like the weirder stuff on there like Bloodshot, but I think Hammer and Strings is the best from it.
This, I haven't listened to enough to have a real favorite.

Bloodshot and Hammers are totally my favorites from GP as well.

Did the beginning of "Release me" remind anyone else of "Hold the Line" by Toto?
