"If Cliff could hear this, he’d probably bitch slap James and Lars until they agreed to stop making

music forever."

Why do people think cliff was this ultra "metal" guy?? his favorite artists were...

Quote: "cliff Burton’s big idol was johann sebastian bach. he actually, listened very little to

trash metal"..."peter gabriel, roxy music and the older hard rock. you know, thin lizzy, blue öyster

cult, rush and black sabbath and also punk like the misfits."

Cliff would have loved doing Load and Reload, probably Black album as well. S&M for sure!!

Quote: "during his last interview, cliff Burton foresaw metallica’s future like a more controlled

hard rock-band with lower tempo and softer appearance.

- sometimes when i listen to softer music than what we do, i feel like writing songs like that.

right now though, there’s no time for that.

but one day i’ll think it will happen."

Don't know about St. Anger as he liked softer music, maybe he would.( i like st. anger not sure

cliff would though, with better production it would be much more accepted. imo) im sure he would

have liked (at least) Death Magnetic as it's similar to the older stuff.

Stop making him seem like this "Only F***ing Thrash Metal, Man!" type a guy he was very opened

minded individual who actually loved Soft Rock and classical music more than anything (+ the stuff

he wrote with Metallica, im sure)

@ Scoot- if your referring to me, i wasn't trying to defend this i didn't comment the album in the last comment. it's just people who think they know what a dead person thinks and feels (Cliff Burton) and say it as fact! when it actually the opposite!! (in his case). And its all over the place with the Cliff Burton comments, and according to most of his interviews and his last, their just plain wrong. regardless of them NOT knowing what a dead man thinks!

@ Satellite- of course he would.... cause i'm Quoting him from one of his interviews of what he

actually said instead of assuming i know what he would think when his dead (just because you think

so

doesn't mean he would). i hope you were joking (im not good with sarcasm). if people read this

interview and there were a couple more on the net you would actually know what he THOUGHT (past

tense)

so as it stand he would have liked doing slower metal/rock and probably experimental stuff like this

and working with a symphony orchestra for sure! ill say it again...

Stop making him seem like this "Only F***ing Thrash Metal, Man!" type a guy he was very opened

minded

individual who actually loved Soft Rock and classical music more than anything (+ the stuff he wrote

@ Satellite - your right i probably should, thank you. im new to this stuff, but it not good to put

words in a dead mans mouth it's kinda of disrespectful especially if it's not true. that's why i

quoted him and only assume his opinion based on his interviews and not my own opinion/interpretation

of Metallica's work after he died.
