Well, this is without a doubt the most well written Lulu review here yet. Congrats. Yes, indeed. That's what's called damning with faint praise.
I found the inclusion of randomly selected out-of-context lines in attempt to make Reed's poetry seem like senile ramblings to be rather sad. Claiming that the lyrics are nonsensical or making comments about them having no relevance to the music makes you seem like a dunce. Especially when the very page streaming the album you likely briefly skimmed through before taking to the keyboard states very clearly what it is about. Okay, let's pretend we're judging this solely on the instrumental sections. You're telling us that the moody post-rock vibe created in "Cheat" or the intense guitarwork in "Dragon" have no artistic merit? Are among the worst things ever committed to record? Laughable.
Honestly, anyone giving this less than a 2 either didn't listen all the way through, is extremely biased, or is simply not a very intelligent person.

Looked more like praising with faint damning to me.
See though, they don't even work in the context of the album. Go on, quote entire songs, because the thing is, I'm not going to quote entire songs (shocker) to get my point across, because then the review would be bloated and far overwrought. The 'intense' guitar work in "Dragon" is really out of place and kind of boring, and the post-rock-ness of "Cheat" is lost in how dreadful everything else is. They aren't the worst things committed to record, but the album as a whole fails on many levels.
Also:

I would expect this bullshit from some of the idiots here, but not from you.
| | | Also, this 'poetry' is the kind of shit I'd see on Livejournal from little kids.

i'd love to see you write a review justifying that score

Ethics clearly eludes you. That was quite an unintelligent comment.

Haha but now you have three! :/ I'll pos to outset.
| | | Haha, dammit no! I want people to pos because they thought it was well-written, not out of pity.

mine and the 5 review got negged to shit
| | | Oh believe me, I pos'd 'cause it was well written. ;)
| | | It's typical though. It doesn't bother me a whole lot, the approval rating isn't a big deal. I'm
just glad to get discussion going and have feedback from others. Also, I honestly can take criticisms
well, it's when people make comments like: "Honestly, anyone giving this less than a 2 either didn't
listen all the way through, is extremely biased, or is simply not a very intelligent person." that I
take offense, because they're shifting the focus from constructive criticism to personal conflict.
| | | "You are right, I'm ignorant on this. But the difference between you and I is that I will check these plays out and educate myself. I don't stay ignorant."
No, the difference is that you're attacking people's reaction to this album because they aren't receiving it the way you think they should. Apparently you've only listened to one song off of this, so the fact that you're trying to write these "thoughtful" critiques on how people are receiving this album is ridiculous because you haven't even heard the album yourself. Even if Gyro had no clue who Lou Reed or Metallica were, he still has more of a right to review this album than you because he has, oh I don't know, actually listened it? Do you not see how hypocritical it is to call him out on writing this review without having rated anything else by Lou Reed while you yourself are criticizing the hate for the album without having actually heard it?
| | | lol this sounds like it would be awful
| | | 1 song in this already sux
| | | Oh believe me, I pos'd 'cause it was well written. ;)
Just makin' sure ;D Thanks man.
Kubrick: Yep, you nailed it.
lol this sounds like it would be awful
Check out the first song at least just for a good laugh, man :P
| | | ... I was trying to point out how stupid that assertion is, especially considering the guy who's saying it hasn't even listened to the album he is analyzing the reaction for. Is that not obvious?
| | | yeah i misunderstood it the comment i changed it already
this is so bad.
| | | Ah, no worries :D

People like you piss me off. I guess no one has the right to opinion in your world? If someone's rating isn't the same as yours it's laughable and wrong.
