I said it once before, I will say it again, your review should have simply consisted of "I don't like Kurt Travis' vocals, and my small mind won't let me see past it without severe bias"

Again with the DGD comparisons. Did you really even listen to the entire album? You honestly think "Truly Random Code," "The Blowtorch is Applied to the Sugar," and "Orange Time Machines Care" have anything to do with DGD besides the simple fact that they share a single singer?

"The lyrical quality has also fallen on Conversation Piece."

This is wildly untrue. So untrue that it is incapable of being argued with. I have a feeling you did not read a single line of the screamer's lyrics/you never read plan b's

"The drummer places fills where they’re needed, and just keeps time elsewhere."

You truly have no idea what rhythmic complexity consists of. You're telling me, that the drums in What Didn't Kill Me are simply keeping time? that any average drummer can play the verses to think dirty? That the drummer of DGD (Or any other "scene" drummer) can even begin to play the poly-rhythmic 7/8 verse of Orange time machines?

Also, complaints on production value... please re-listen to Plan B. For the record, vocals are Supposed to be on top of the mix...

Finally, this album is prog as shit, more-so at times than the first record

nothing about this band really grabs my attention like some people

i mean it's catchy, but it's also borderline annoying

Vocalist kinda annoys me a little... he needs less parts. However I do really enjoy the

instrumentation ^_^

Personperson- umm... I was confused at first by your comment, but then I realized you meant to post that on the OTHER review for this album. Weird mistake! Although it bumps my review, so who am I to complain ;] besides, I approve of your score.

Yeah Stokes, I understand what you're saying. No matter how impressive a musical performance is, it needs to sound good for us to find ourselves enjoying it.

And the vocalist isn't for everyone. I love his voice, but can totally see why others wouldn't

Thanks charlie15, I appreciate it very much! And I agree- any favorites?

Whoa! A 5 is a little too much. This might drop to a 3.5 for me. I get bored of it at times, and other times I think it's great.

And Stokes...FUCK Dream Theater, lololol.

Taxidermist, don't let yourself get tired of it my friend; take a small break from it and I bet in a few days you'll feel more positively about it.

After all, not liking this album as much as me is pretty much a certifiable disease

ill try it, but i still can almost guarantee plan b is at least more original and interesting. i cant compare plan b to anything.......but from the few songs ive heard from this its just dgd-esque post-hardcore with a little bit of that "WTF-ness' that plan b had. it just doesnt sound like they improved

Yeah man, let me know what you think. And don't let the opinions on this that have already been established sway your viewpoints too much ;] you may end up with an opinion on this that you didn't quite expect

I haven't heard as much of Plan B as I would have liked. Is there a particular song you would recommend?

In return, I would tell you that "Orange Time Machines Care" and "Properties of Friction" are two songs on this that are pretty indicative of the album's quality

If you like pop-punk I recommend "Your Ex Marked My Spot" off of Plan B. That's one of my favorites. The others ones that stand out are when the wolf is counting sheep, how i parted the red sea, and ted bundy's.

I'm listening to it now- I love it already. Wow, I had no idea that they covered this sound on Plan B. Thanks for the recommendation, Saturday.

I like it, but yesterday when I was listening to it I ended up listening to something else (Neutral Milk Hotel). Guess I wasn't in the mood.

Dude, Neutral Milk Hotel is fantastic at least. I've been playing the new Forza 4 game with this album, and they go together quite well :]
