Hmm I saw someone else with this avatar too I think. Completely irrelevant I know >_> It's from a film

called princess mononoke (hopefully spelled correctly).

I think the reason behind the vocal-domination on this album stems from the fact that they have dual

vocalist now. Kurt Travis (cleans) & Cory Lockwood (harsh).

Oh, and I don't get why some people are saying the lyrics are bad. I mean, it's all subjective,

but...

"Narcissus broke a mirror and put the shards into his arm

via hypodermic needle but it didn’t do him harm.

A little self-reflection went a long, long way.

Now he’s hiding in the cellar, scared to show the world his face.

Well, I’ve never learned a lesson that I didn’t teach myself."

"Do as I say, not as I’ve done. Just trust in me. Believe me.

When you left me, you didn’t leave me a trail to follow.

No, you just swallowed all the crumbs along the way

so you could feed all the ghosts that hide inside your bones

cause maybe if their mouths are full they’ll stop whispering that you’re better off alone."

"Every skipped stone shears the river into liquid,

shining slivers like the steady scalpel of a surgeon

selling virgin flesh to the highest bidder.

If only all the oracles of old could order us to open doors

that we have closed or offer options over ones that we naively chose."

"I spiked both our drinks with a gallon of ink,

now I’m writing a novel from your insides.

We’re a spider with our limbs doing anything but walking.

A conversation with our mouths doing anything but talking."

"Any consistency scares me from progress.

I don’t show it but I’m catching on and can see through the pattern.

Don’t talk! Read this! Your strong upper hand will get lost in the process.

Got matters to attend to and methods to convince you to stay right where you"

... Ya', I think they are pretty great lyrics.

Tantrum is one of the best songs I've heard in 2011. Don't know what to make of the rest of it yet though.

summary

The Plan B review says something about how A Lot Like Birds sounds like the name of a mediocre band. The grammar in the summary is fine.

wait can you just explain the part about touche amore and AFI i dont get it and its annoying me

Touche Amore has pretty good songwriting skills, but their full-lengths are severely lacking. AFI has written some amazing albums, but have me questioning their legitimacy with Crash Love.

I think the reason behind the vocal-domination on this album stems from the fact that they have dual

vocalist now

I see your point, but just because they have two vocalists doesn't mean it has to be vocal-dominated. Or, They could always just go with, perhaps, the original ONE vocalist?

what in the hell are scene vocals

I never said that anywhere in my review, what are you talking about? Did you neg me for something that doesn't even exist?

Tantrum is easily the best song on the album. The rest of it is sub-par.

Orange Time Machines Care, Properties Of Friction, and The Blow-Torch Is Applied To The Sugar are better songs so..

I really can't neg this. Or pos this.

Review is well written, but you're so incredibly wrong about this album in a ridiculous amount of ways.

Or maybe it's just the part about "singles" that irks me.

"An example of the guitarists’ skills can be found in the intro riff of Vanity’s Fair."

is it still a riff if its a tapping section?
