Album stands up well to his prior releases. Chillest stuff this year for sure.

I think this is bloody overrated, because he died. I listened to it 2x times yesterday and it's not that awesome but still I am gonna rate it after few more listens

I listened to Nujabes for the first time today. I don't want to diss, and look forward to exploring more of the work and legacy that he has left us. However, I do find most of this material quite unexceptional. Both jazz and slow hip-hop beats have the power to instill daydreams and Nujabes' work here, for me, allows neither element to do this. Individual tracks do stand out (Spiral being one of them) but the album as a whole drifts into obscurity. The legacy affect is interesting in music but this remains C-grade material I think. R.I.P. Jun.
Solid review Nick.

Really want to listen to this. =(
Wish I had the time to sit down and do it but I don't.

And does any one know where I can get CD copies of his previous albums? It's impossible to find them.

This is definitely growing on me. I cannot believe I'd never heard of this guy before; he's excellent. I'm getting Metaphorical Music as I type and I'm stoked. Also, I don't know about others hyping this because the guy is dead, but that's certainly not the case for me. The record is just really fucking good.

ThirtySix, I downloaded pretty much everything Nujabes ever touched last night. I listened to Metaphorical Music and Modal Soul and I was completely blown away. After a listen each, I'm digging Metaphorical Music a bit more, but they are both fantastic records. I've literally never heard anything else like it. Deviant, which Damu album should I start with?

I don't know about easy in terms of difficulty level, but easy, as in "Be easy, man," definitely. "Far Fowls" is one of my favorite tracks of the year, and "Yes" is incredible. Digging the shit out of this and Metaphorical Music at the moment. Cool avatar, kingsboy.

I like it alot but not to that extent. I prefer Madlib's 'Shades of Blue' to this or Metaphorical Music.

Wished I had heard of this producer before he died. This is so bordering a 4.5, but I think a 4/5 is appropriate for how I feel for now.

Lol, gabe. You need to come off of that junk you're on. Do you not see that all of his releases have over a 4 average rating?
