Well, most of the songs on here are pretty repetitive and boring, but the very last song 'My spirit' shows that Lacuna coil still have some originality in them. Unfortunately, this time round, they didn't quite have enough. I am probably one of those fans that have accepted that the band just aren't going to return to the music they making over a decade ago. Ah well. Bon Voyage.

This is a fantastic review, you captured my thoughts exactly on their previous albums. Especially how Shallow Life is even more mainstream than Karmacode but at least feels like this time around they're comfortable in mainstream. As for this album, I'm slightly compelled to have a listen. I enjoyed Shallow Life more than I did Karmacode, to be honest. It's not like it's some amazing music, but it's enjoyable when you don't feel like thinking.

The lyrics on this are some of the most pathetic cliched bunch of nonsense i have heard. Even the song titles are lame.
FIRE
The Army Inside
Intoxicated
Kill the Light
Against You.

"My spirit is free"
"What a DAAAAAY, i can barely keep my eyes open...Come to me, Come to Me, i am waiting for you...Follow Me Follow Me..."

This band is starting to piss me off.
This is one of the cheesiest albums ever.

And they have TWO seven String players! Why?!?

Well, at least they get more out of their instrument's range than Meshuggah's two 8-string players.

If I'm not mistaken, this album does have some half decent solos on it. Lacuna Coil's music is terribly unremarkable technically but damn, it's still enjoyable. At times.

Um, so "half decent" is an overstatement for you? Very well, nothing to see here
