Definitely gonna have to give this a full listen, all 3 of the songs in the first post were pretty good.

Review was nicely done. Black Waltz and One Touch are the only two that I've heard and I've definitely been impressed. I'll be checking the rest of this album out for sure.

Decent album IMO. Only a few consistently interesting songs on here. Vocal delivery is a mixed bag and
the lyrics are poor. It's cool Avatar has variety in their song writing but other than melo deth, I
don't feel like any of the attempted styles are above average.

"Avatar have seemingly transformed into what can only be described as a technical, melodic death 'n' roll unit."
"The biggest strength of the album is how it is able to be experimental, yet feel perfectly designed."
Review says everything I feel about the album. Pos. Great album.

Man, I've been listening to this ever since yesterday and this is really good. Basically, if you like heavy metal, go check it out. It's really hard to say which band they sound like because there's a lot of variation going on in the album. Just check it out.

Black Waltz is not very good. Songwriting is shoddy. Direction is confused. One moment they sound like Groove Metal and then you hear some tremelo picking. It's very scattershot and confused. They don't even do good Death n Roll. One moment they are doing At the Gates, the next they are BM, then Mudvayne, Entombed...
They need to pare down their intentions and focus.
Also, having the worst cover in have seen in years doesn't help.

They need to pare down their intentions and focus. This is, of course, a matter of opinion, but unlike you, that eclecticism is what I personally really like about this album. I like that they sound like At The Gates at one moment, then like Entombed, groove metal and BM at other, because I do think they pull it off well. I don't think the songwriting is shoddy and the direction confused, on the contrary, I think the songwriting is varied and their vision is something unique.

Most of the times, bands which have so many different genres blended in them turn into utter mess. It's how Avatar executes all those influences in one album and still manage to sound so awesome that impressed me personally. The only thing that I disliked was that distortion effect (?) on the growl vocals. "Black Waltz" is easily my favorite track. "Use Your Tongue" is a killer album closer. What was that? Country? I'm not the most perceptive when it comes to genres, sorry XD.

It was something akin to blues rock that was integrated there.
