Excellent album, but not without flaws - which the review touched nicely. Great review. Savia and Slithering are easily my favorites.

No, that art has nothing to do with Tool. It's similar, that's all.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

@MetallicOpeth:

Indeed, the drumming is the most impressive thing about this album and one of the things that distinguish them from other acts of the same kind.

@Inveigh:

They are not the first act who is trying to imitate Tool, nor the last. It's a very solid clone compared to other bands of this sort, just because the musicianship is very tight on this album.

@D41V30N:

Slithering is really good. I don't like Savia a lot though. My faves are Fraccion, Delenda, Canvas, Purpose and Slithering.

Yeah, this is way too much of a Tool imitation for me to really bother listening to. I'm almost able to overlook the bass and vocals, but the album art...

I can wait a few more months for the real thing.

Just realized who's participating in this one.

Stoked to say the least, I thought Martin Lopez had quit music.

Will check this.

Congrats for the feature, pos.

Tool tricked everybody. This is, in fact, their new album. ;)

"I though Martin Lopez had quit music."

Well he was super sick. I think it had to do with the success and relentless touring of Opeth's schedule. I also think he was getting a little bored of the music personally.

this is good stuff. definitely feels like a tool clone band, but a tool clone band is still pretty fucking good.

Yeah, very, very similar, like everything about this band. Way too similar. My wife just asked from the kitchen "Is that Tool?" I responded "No, it's a band called Soen." She responded "I've never heard a band rip Tool off more obviously."

I'll listen to the whole album simply because I do kinda need a replacement Tool these days.
