i didnt say it was the first true metal release, just the first engaging one. there's been a shit ton and a lot of enjoyable ones, but this is the first which i feel I'll still be talking about it come the end of the year.

Yah, I didn't mean to say it was just the first true metal release, but there has actually been some really high quality metal albums to come out this year. I think the sheer fact that it's a bigger name act has everyone thinking this will still have great impact later in the year -- and I'm sure it will for some, but that's SUCH a bold statement idk.
