Dragon Quest V and VIII are also pretty amazing.

id add vagrant story but the combat system is a bit dull and slow, one of the early RPGs i really enjoyed was phantasy star IV

I didn't like Vagrant Story, but it was mostly because I hated the combat system. For Ps1 RPGs, I also really liked Breath of Fire IV and Chrono Cross. Radiant Historia is also a fantastic one on the DS. Probably up there with CT for me.

Suikoden III on the Ps2 is another favorite of mine. I have heard the second one is also really good, but it's so hard to find. I wish they would put it out on the PSN, like they did with the first one.

I tried playing Phantasy Star IV a while back, but I couldn't really get into it.

aw thats too bad, i never played any Breath of Fire games some of my friends keep telling me the
first few were really good

atm i just cant get enough time to play RPGs, it just flies away while im playing. i bought valkyrie
profile 2 awhile back and only made it to the second dungeon or so, was really enjoying it so far

Sad to say that i've finished the dull as hell 13 an never really had the chance to play through this game.

Oh, yeah, Yoko Shomomura did a great job on the RH score. I was pretty excited when I found it was her before the game came out. She also did Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, and the Mario & Luigi series, just to name a few.

Me too, Shuyin. I have a tendency to get one started, make it about half way or so thru, get distracted, stop playing it just long enough to forget what was going on, and then start it over a few months down the road.

I have been looking forward to playing Folklore on the Ps3. I just need to find the time to get it started.

I haven't played KH yet; but as far as I can tell it just looks like a bunch of advertisers got together and decided to make a video game

the first kh was great but as they went on the story got so convoluted and square decided to make a bunch of spin-offs on multiple consoles it was ridiculous

i was playing FF8 on my ps3 (bough it on the store since it was the only FF i didnt own) in the end of the third cd i had to stop playing since i was too busy at the time.

when i got back i had no idea what was going on or what i was supposed to do. basically every single monster that appeared was able to wipe out out my party, i got so pissed.. but i wanted to end that game

that's the worst, when you come back to a game after an extended period of not playing and you have no idea what to do

games need like an auto recap or something

Just popping in to state that this is the best final fantasy game. I like to imagine Shadow's Theme as my theme song (:

I definitely will soon. Well I own a copy for the PlayStation but I've heard mixed things about that version.

The Playstation version is decent. But I recommend the GBA version (If you can get hold of it for a decent price), it runs really quickly and it has some extra content.
