I thought this was pree cool. At least it's not the same thing they wrote before - for better or for worse.

My thoughts exactly. Everything but the singles bored me to tears. It just kept reminding me how much better The Killers are at this sort of thing.

I never liked the killers.

Yeah and even though I can see where you'd draw parallels between those bands, I think they are different enough that neither one could do what the other one does...I'm really digging the first 4 songs off of this and it's making me want to 3 this, but the rest is so dry that I think the right thing to do is stay put at an average 2.5.

Franz Ferdinand >>>>>> The Killers.

I see them get compared quite often.

Yeah. I was really impressed until around that mark. It's a shame really. I'll probably just keep spinning that EP of theirs if I get an urge for it.

It's Time is a masterpiece of catchy mainstream indie rock, in my opinion.

I loved it a lot on first listen, but it really wore off on me. The verses are great, but the chorus really isn't all that special, or the song really.

I agree its basically a masterpiece. But the fact that there are only two other good songs on the album really clips their wings, at least on this effort

ha - it's funny you should say that. My iPod broke over the summer and that's all I listened to. My iPod is back though, hence the Swans etc. ;)

I like your review, but I don't see the big problem with it

It's just so bloated. Much ado about nothing, if you will.

Everything sounds so grand but half the time it isn't even memorable in the slightest, it's the equivalent of having a marching band parade through the streets of your down every time you take a dump.

What kind of world do we live in when 'indie' music is just as polished as pop music.

A rather unceremonious 200th review if you ask me

Same deal for my 80th.

Aw, this is sad. I quite enjoyed their EP; I guess if nothing else, the repeated songs will save this.

By the way, a short review from SS? Have things changed or something?
