Yeah, just thought the rating was weird for a nonteen, nontroll reviewer :D
And TDG are a bit of a guilty pleasure at my age, I'll admit...
|

Didn't know you could have guilty pleasures at 3 years old.
|
| |
That's when guilty pleasures start.
Besides, I'm not 3 years old. I'm 8.57296489 × 10(23) femtoseconds old.

Album Rating: 4.5
Like I said my rating is technically a 4.5. Also I didn't know age played a part in ones ability to enjoy good music ;) I enjoy all
the bands I loved in high school such as new found glory and blink 182. My taste has evolved a lot (metal is my favorite) but
that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the genre that got me into music in the first place!

If I were to use your logic, AC/DC is a fun band but they are contrived and just a band for teenage pussies who don't know what real metal/hard rock is. ;)

Album Rating: 2.5
I'd listen to The Used over AC/DC and Three Days Grace any day.

Album Rating: 4.5
@Ecnalzen, and you don't even like The Used that much lol.
I actually don't mind AC/DC, but ReturnToRock is just full of shit haha.
|
| |
Gotta say ReturnToRock is right. This band was for faggoty scene kids back in the day and listening to them is rather embarrassing. I still like those few tracks I said on the last page though. I just wouldn't admit it to anyone
|
| |
You just did, though

Ugh I like you XingKing, but you can't define an entire band as just "being for faggy scene kids".
"I wouldn't admit to it anymore"
Why do you care what other people think? Lol
|
| |
@Intotheshit: You guys are all imaginary people I made up in my head while I lay hooked up to an iron lung in the hospital in a coma.
Because I must be the best like no one ever was, Atari. At the very least, you could describe their first two albums that way before they turned to shit. It sounds negative but I mean it in the most positive manner someone could say it.

Damn sorry I like bands other than Anthrax : P
|
| |
It's cool. I pretty much just listen to hardcore and skramz anyway. I don't like most of the things you review but I like reading your reviews cause when I see your name next to the album, I can expect a good read.

Album Rating: 4.5
@Xing, thanks I appreciate it, I thought you liked Anthrax though? but yeah I can understand why you might not like this album and I suppose they are kind of a scene band, but this albuma and I go way back. YOu did good on your first two reviews too by the way, keep it up.
|
| |
Oh, I do like Anthrax but they definitely have a strong punk influence. For the most part though, I hate metal.
I can understand that. I actually bought this album on CD too when it came out and I even saw them play live with Atreyu. Typically I can go back to the music I enjoyed when I was young and I find myself enjoying it the same way I did back then. Dat nostalgia rush.
Anyways, what's your favorite track off of this?

Album Rating: 4.5
I'd have to say 'Buried Myself Alive'.
around the time this album came out, I was experimenting with certain drugs for the first time. I remember my buddy and I getting high (but also sick) off some opiates (oxy I think) and we puked a bunch lol. So yeah the songs chorus was kind of our song cause it says....."I guess it's ok I puke the day away....
|

P-h has never been more widely misunderstood
|
| |
And back then Bert was just dealing with his meth addictions and throwing up on stage all the time. Crazy shit, man.
Thanks for the compliments too!

No problem. I respect your opinion about this band and at least you'll still read reviews if you don't agree with the rating. Some people just see the rating and completey write off the review if they disagree with it.

Album Rating: 2.5
Or neg it because the rating is too high or just because they hate the band.
I only really like one AC/DC song and that is Hell's Bells. I don't really find their stuff that engaging and it all sounds remarkably similar to me. Angus Young is pretty decent at guitar though. I'll give them that. To me, Three Days Grace is just angsty and whiny.
I can see how this album would be considered "scene music" with the whole "screamo" fad that was around during this time.
