Anberlin isn't a band you go in expecting to blow your mind. The fact is that the band gets it done on nearly every level.



I actually agree that the album is overproduced and as others have noted, everything melts together a little too much for my taste. Really hurts songs like Orpheum that have so much going on at once. Likewise to the poster who says the vox are overproduced (although some of what you're attributing to overproduction might just be Christian's voice, which is really unique). It's there, and it hurts songs. For some, this can really hurt their enjoyment (hence "only" a 3, even though a 3 isn't a bad rating) and for others, it's a slight annoyance that they can live with (like for me).



As for the album not being impressive, well that's not just fair. Especially for Alt. Rock, this is a very ambitious album, I'd say. Even if you don't think it's impressive, you should be able to tell why others would think that.
