I had heard of SWR before but it wasn't until I saw them open for Depeche Mode
when I started paying attention. I believe they are a nice break from plenty of filler
bands that compose about 95% of the radio airwaves. Still I do not feel pasionate
about them. I really did not like the fact that they had 66 songs on their cd (52 of
which were 3 second spaces) Perhaps they are trying too hard to be something
that at least right now they are not. Other than that, the music is decent to perhaps
enjoyable, but still a far cry from Joy division or Interpol (who seem to be mentioned
a lot when comparissons are being drawn.) Some moments are better than others
but I have to admit that it gets to be an album that seems to end up in the bottom
of the pile many times. I think the worst part about the album is that they sound
like they are trying to hard to have this sound but something is missing, no passion,
without passion, even shadowplay can be boring, and this is what SWR manages to
do. The best song by far is number 10 "Someone must get hurt". Tear you apart
seems to be the favorite among listeners although I must admit is ok, it really does
get to be a skipped song fast. Maybe a sophomore album will provide a better basis
of argument...until then I will patiently wait....AZThis Message Edited On 09.12.06

wow, this album was really bad. I didnt think a band could get this bad, I didnt hear one vocal/riff/beat on this album that I could consider talent. Thank god I only paid about 3 dollars for this. I still feel like I wasted my money.

I was drawn to a few songs from this one, but overall that's where it stops. I'm not a fan of Joy Division or Interpol and can't pinpoint their style, but comparisons aside this just feels bland and redundant. There is a dark feeling overall to this one, but that too feels forced and somewhat gimicky. Still, this is good for a couple songs - mainly "These Things" and "Tear You Apart", but you're not missing out on too much by avoiding it.
I think you summed up the disc pretty well with the review, nice job.

I seen these guys back in 2006 at the House of Blues with Monsters are Waiting and Pretty Girls Make
Graves. There was maybe 75 people but She Wants Revenge still put on a great show.
