Unsure on the throat disease Snide (I did my best to reply seriously then).
And yes, there is an uncensored cover floating around the web which isn't difficult to find.

i remember when she was just a bratty teen on Gossip Girl...
they grow up so fast

First LP was a lot better, was pretty shocked at how much her appearance had changed between albums.
Definitely better than a lot of the radio "rock" most stations around here play, but just not feeling this album as a whole.

Should I upload that one to Sput?

I'm proud to say that I've never watched a single minute of 'Gossip Girl'.
Agree that their debut was better Acanthus. I'd probably rate that one around the 3.7 mark, and even higher had it not been for some immature filler.
As for changing appearance, most people do between the ages of 17 & (nearing) 21.
This one is the official cover GB, so "no".

Well, I only wrote 5 last year fti... But this is my 8th so far this year, so I'm well & truly back.
'Deft wordplay & funny observations' is my middle name. It's a bit of a mouthful to say though, so I shorten it to Davey Pun Boy.

It's strange because I think we've both got more diverse in our tastes, but it just doesn't seem to be in the same direction.

Now there's a different way to rate albums.

Pretty much spot on Snide.
There's a little Pyromaniac in all of us Arcade. Plus, it's Def Leppard.

A little erection is telling you to burn things!?
And just to tie it back to some semblance of relevance, you know what the debut LP of The Pretty Reckless was called, don't ya?

I just worked it out: You're actually the little girl on the cover of 'Light Me Up'.

That intro "orgasm" is the worst thing ever

She looks good, but 'Heaven Knows' is a cringe worthy replica of 'We Will Rock You', ugh.

I think this is a jizzillion times better than Halestorm. Everything I've heard of Halestorm sounds pretty much exactly like every other hard rock band out there, just with a nominal female vocalist. The Pretty Reckless actually seems to have some kind of identity.

That song they did for the Kick Ass credits is dope as fuck.
AND EVERYTIME I LOOOOK IINSIIDE YOUURR HEEEEAAAAAAAAAART

Great review! I’m glad I never heard of Taylor Momsen before as it allows me an objective view on the music. It’s an entertaining album actually and Taylor’s appearance and attitude complements the music very well imo. Will give this some more spins but it looks pretty much like a 3 to me...

whats a poser

Saw these supporting Fall Out Boy on sunday, they really didn't grab me. Miss Nothing and Make Me Wanna Die are the only songs that really stuck with me that I've heard.
Also, lyrically, this band is poor in my opinion.

"Am I the only person disturbed by the fact this girl is about 20 and they rely way too heavily on trying to get old 'Metalheads' to come and listen and wank off to it."
I don't think a 20 year old woman should carry herself the way she does, but I don't think what you state is their actual intention. Having said that, she plays a card that goes close to that territory on this album, even if it's more the theme they try to adhere to too closely.
Was gonna mention that 'Heaven Knows' does borrow a bit from 'We Will Rock You' Raul. It's not the 1st song too though & won't be the last.
SitarHero, while Halestorm was the closest comparison I could think of, I do feel that both bands come from different angles. There's much more potential in The Pretty Reckless (even if they have not realized it yet) to be a serious band. Halestorm are more of a fun & catchy variant on hair-metal, but are good for what they are. It's like Olympic diving: TPR go for the higher difficulty, but have yet to nail a dive, where Halestorm perform the simple & derivative stuff well.
Thanks & well said Davil667. It's why I often don't watch videos & read stuff about bands that I know get derided a lot (EG: Black Veil Brides). I agree this is entertaining, but if you have a listen to their debut LP, you'll see that being entertaining may not be for their long-term best, because they could be really great.
