One of my mates adores this band/E and as much as I try I just can't get into it. I have electro shock, what would be a better starting point?

Beautiful Freak and Daisies of the Galaxy are both pretty easy to get into. Souljacker too if you're

after something a bit more rock-based.

Electro-Shock Blues is amazing, but it's pretty heavy for a starting point.

I think a great starting point is the Live at Town Hall concert recording. It covers all of his fan favorites without the tedium of some of his albums. Blinking Lights is my favorite of his, but it can be incredibly arduous to get through in one sitting.

Meet the Eels is a great starting point. Its a greatest hits compilation of his first 10 years or so. Then if you like that Blinking Lights is godly if you give it time.

Spent today going through every Eels record in chronological order (currently on Blinking Lights). I've thoroughly enjoyed myself.

It's nice to see others liking eels, i always see him get pushed into the corner as a beck ripoff, nevermind the fact that him and Beck were and still are concurrently active/releasing stuff.

I've not listened to the bonus disc yet, but the vinyl package is very lovely.

E’s vocal on “Agatha Chang” is heartbreaking . . . This album may be a return to familiar territory but he isn’t coasting.

I know he is covering old ground, but I like what he did with it.

Never got into this guy so far. I remember listening to "electro shock blues" once and not really
having an opinion on it. But i started to check this album out and it's pretty great on the first
listen, may have some catching up to do.
