I suppose I'd be one of the few "fans" that you spoke of in your review. Anarchy may not have been a great album, but as far as I'm concerned, there's plenty of good stuff on there and The Stephen Hawking is one of the best songs they've ever written, even if it's a tad close to Ahhh...Men.

I still jam the first two tracks and "The Stephen Hawking" from time to time but the rest of that album is doggggggggggggggggggggshit.

So this is really good, isn't it? Six Six Six made me optimistic when I first listened to it... but as much as I did like some parts of Anarchy (Night Song, Say Anything, Stephen Hawking) this is a VAAAAAST improvement.
It just feels like they're trying less to be that "...Is A Real Boy" band. It sounded forced on Anarchy, now it just feels natural, Bemis seems at his most passionate in years.
|
| |
Passionate for sure, if a little melodramatic.

deathschool, I felt the same way with most of the songs at first. At least for me it grew on me though to where now I am loving all the songs. I don't normally like screaming in songs at all, now I am screaming along with the dude on Lost My Touch lol

I don't think there's a song on here that I dislike. Lost My Touch is phenomenal and so unlike most of the things they've ever done.
Pushing up to a 4.5

John McLaine, My Greatest Fear is Splendid, and Nibble, Nibble are all fantastic tracks. I'm not sold on the rest but this is clearly a step up from Anarchy.
