Clocks, In My Place, Viva La Vida, and Yellow are like that for me bloc. When I was a kid throughout the 2000s those were on the radio cooonstantly. Same with the singles from the albums ATYCLB and HtDaAB by U2.

Yep Viva La Vida is another one for sure. I have not gotten tired of In My Place or Yellow thankfully.
And omg you just reminded me of Vertigo from U2, that shit was everywhere but damn it was a good jam

Not sure how this is the highest rated Coldplay album when Parachutes and Viva La Vida exist. Incredibly nostalgic though! Clocks always hits hard. Never saw the love for Politik, it's a slog.

Indeed it does have that “take me back to 2002” vibe

Funnily enough I find the singles from this one unbearable (especially the scientist and clocks), contrary to those from Parachutes.
As a whole this feels more bland than Parachutes as well

Parachutes is warm and fuzzy though, this is cold and a little bit grey. Depends on what mood you're in, but I definitely prefer warm and fuzzy right now lol

did any of these songs not get released as a single? Shit was everywhere. All of it. Took years to get rid of the unwanted invasion using up part of my consciousness. My capacity is small. In fact I should sue Chris Martin & co. for my failure to hit the grades expected of me. This parasite drained me of what little cognitive ability I had, made me sad and thus destroyed my life
still, being the miserable bastard I am, it gets a few points for making me feel something, which under the normal circumstances of 'modest exposure' would simply not have been possible
+.5 for being impactful enough to contribute to my demise

I succeeded though, eventually
I wouldn't call it a break-up, more of a 'conscious uncoupling'
