Album doesn't drag as much as people have described for me. It loses some steam but I like the quaint tracks.

I know it's a weird comparison but this is kind of like the new Modest Mouse for me. Some brilliant standouts but the rest of the time just kind of twiddling my thumbs.

This review should start with : "I'm the biggest hypocrite of 2015" instead of "the worst kind of flip-flopper".

Little Wanderer > the rest of the first half > the second half. And Little Wanderer gets me for relatability reasons more than objective quality reasons.

Nothing here is offensively bad, but yeah, it's a pretty sleepy album if you take it in all at once.

Well, it's better than Codes and Keys at least.

Apparently Sufjan and Death Cab both don't know where to begin.

Within the first minute of the opening track on both records, they say "I don't know where to begin."

Fun fact of the day. Enjoy.

Strangers to Ourselves is more original and diverse, most of this relies on the strength of the singles and previous releases.

I prefer Strangers to this, but they're both different variations of 3's. Strangers is like a 3.3 and this is like a 3 flat. But I decided against 0.1 increments because they annoy me.

Hahaha yeah

But back to what you were saying, when MM and DC finish the year with the same rating for me I know MM will be several ranks higher on my year-end list.

In fact if anything this might go down to a 2.5 in time

Right now I'm enjoying the novelty of it tho

The first four songs are too great for me to bump my rating down, also the last three songs are pretty good. This just really sags and loses momentum in the middle for me.
