a band that literally almost no one is going to care about because we already know what they are going to put out.

Excellent Review. A lot of quality ideas here. These are just a few thoughts.
- Is "Djent" supposed to be capitalized?
You don't really tell me about the band members much. Yes they are new, they play it safe, and they use "Djent chugging guitar tones." But that is about it.
I love the intro and the buildup to the discussion, but the discussion defaults a little too much on "BB is conservative". I really thought it was nice where you suggested the opportunities where BB COULD have drawn their lyrical influences from. Consider shift the conversation to the instrumentation a tad in the middle section. I mean, clearly there wasn't a ton of lasting impressions, but consider the drums, guitar, base, new member's influence, any changes in tone?
Some topic along these lines. I know people are honed in on lyrics, mood, vocals, and comparing the album to previous efforts, but there are some 4/5! members here I know almost nothing about.

Yeah, this is best review of this so far, imo. Pos'd. Feel the same way that I like it, but I can't help but feel disappointed and quite bring myself to call this good. But it's growing a little on me, so it might get to a 3. Though my reasons are based in fantasy that this can help bring the guitar back into the mainstream fold, "save rock n' roll" as it were. Anyway, it does sound flat and uninspired, especially in the midsection. A lot Phobiaesque dense riffing and extended vocal note melodies by the way of Dance With the Devil and Unknown Soldier. They've always seemed capable of pushing the envelope a bit and never persist in any substantial way to do so.

Loving this record. I came in expecting another solid BB album and thats exactly what it is. Ben's vocals in Ashes of Eden are just incredible.

This is pretty much exactly what I expected. The 16 year old me would have eaten this up...nothing bad, just typical BB.

Yeah I mean I guess I was kind of hoping for a little more experimentation especially with the three guitars now but then Ben announced he wrote all of the music and such before the new guys even came in and that he just had them play the parts. Hopefully next time they branch out more and everyone brings some music to the table. For now though this is solid BB as always.

I never expected any experimentation...I'm not even sure what I expected tbh. This is pretty much exactly what I figured it would be, but I just went along listening for nostalgia's sake.

It kind of feels like a successor to Phobia in some ways. The other side of the coin. At least thats what I felt like when listening to it.
