@feather idk i just really like the bounciness and the tempo, completely took me by surprise. i relate to most of what this dude says on the album. he's not the best vocalist ever but he is very good at what he does

He has a very good delivery. It fits the music perfectly and he can really ride the song.

yeah his vocal delivery matches the music well and matches his lyrics well but there's nothing "mind-blowing" about either

after listening through it, i must say, that it's pretty nice for especially for a nyp album. Sasquatch, Jasper, cutter are great songs, but theres no fail at all. I like the cover, pretty cool with the blurred faces. Will keep an eye on them

some of the lyrics on here are for sure pretty cheesy tho lol but it doesn't bother me

This sounds pretty damn cool.

Didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Maybe it's just not my thing: I rarely listen to emo. But the production on this is amazing

I feel like this album is an opportunity for people to revisit Karate (also from Boston) who were doing something similar (jazz/blues influence) but with a little more of a slowcore vibe. I especially like their album Unsolved. Here's the opening track "Small Fires": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbB2yjJg0g8.

Good album, will definitely listen to it more.
Last 3 tracks are fire

the definite highlights for me are Bloody Nose, Beach Book, Sasquatch .22, and Captive Cows. the rest just kinda sounds like they rewrote the first song over and over again
|
| |
Sounds pretty good other than the vocals at times and the lyrics.
|
| |
yeah he does do the woah oh oh thing too much. i kinda get a "i like talkin about sex a lot so that you all know i have sex a lot" feel from the lyrics but it's fine

I think you get that vibe because his lyrics are pretty honest and he doesn't try to skirt around a lot of things so when he bluntly talks about having sex he just wants use that for the song's purpose. From what I've listened to this type of writing style isn't very common but I may be wrong

Sounds great. Is this similar at all to the new turnover record?
|
| |
not at all. sounds kinda like Winter Forever with more jazz chords and really slick yet immensely heavy production
